One of the things we love most about recommending a catamaran cruise in Barbados is how well it works for every kind of group, and our recent family trip on Seaduced I proved just that. With grandparents, parents and young children all on board, it was a relaxed and memorable day that ticked every box for a multigenerational holiday.

We were picked up directly from the beach in front of Banyan House, just steps from our villa. It doesn’t get much easier than that. The kids loved the excitement of wading straight onto the small tender boat from the shore, and within minutes we were boarding Seaduced I, ready for a day of adventure. The crew, Captain Tony, Skipper Keely and Chef Donte, welcomed us warmly and set the tone for the whole trip. The boat was spotless, everything felt top class, and it was clear from the start that the crew was brilliant with all ages. Whether it was chatting to the grandparents, helping the children get used to the water, or making sure everyone had what they needed, they were genuinely outstanding.

Our first stop was a snorkelling site near a shallow shipwreck, which turned out to be a real highlight. The sea was calm and clear, and the crew helped the children into the water with gentle encouragement and a lot of patience. Our six-year-old, loved every second. She still talks about watching the anchor being dropped, spotting a bat fish under the surface, and seeing a turtle pop its head up nearby. For the grandparents, the crew were just as thoughtful. When our grandmother was a little nervous about getting into the sea, Keely and Tony reassured her with no pressure and kind understanding. It meant everyone could enjoy the experience in their own way.

After snorkelling, we continued down the coast to a quiet bay for lunch. Donte prepared a spread that had everyone going back for seconds - grilled fish and meats, salads, and warm bread, followed by rum cake that the adults all agreed was dangerously good. A top tip from one of our group: don’t have a big breakfast before a Seaduced lunch. You’ll want to save room!
They also had no trouble catering for different dietary needs. Our sister-in-law is vegan and was well looked after, with a delicious plant-based alternative that didn’t feel like an afterthought. After lunch, we anchored again for another swim, with plenty of floats and snorkel gear available for whoever wanted to jump back in. The Caribbean water was warm and welcoming, and there was something lovely about everyone splashing about together; kids laughing, grandparents floating, and the crew on hand to help with everything.

The scenery along the way was just as special. Barbados really does look its best from the water, and the cruise gave us time to soak it all in at a relaxed pace.
We were dropped off back on the same beach where we started, a few sandy footsteps from our villa. From start to finish, it was completely effortless, genuinely luxurious and full of those little moments that make a family holiday unforgettable. As our grandfather put it best, “We had a wonderful family excursion on Seaduced. The crew were brilliant, the food was lovely, and the scenery around the island was stunning. Rounding off the trip with a family swim in the Caribbean just made our day.”
