Royal Westmoreland is one of our most popular resort destinations on the island of Barbados. The carefully kept lawns and obsessively leaf-blown walkways make for the perfect setting to gently cruise in your golf cart, and crest the iconic yellow speed bumps on your way to the Clubhouse.
Please note that Royal Westmoreland charges a separate resort fee in order to access the shared facilities for guests staying within the resort. This fee is set directly by Royal Westmoreland, is payable locally, and is not included in your villa rental with Hammerton Barbados.
This guide outlines the current membership structure and associated fees; however, as these are set by Royal Westmoreland, both the resort fee and what it includes may change at any time.
Resort Facilities Charge
Effective from 1st May 2026, Royal Westmoreland will collect a resort facilities fee per villa, per week for access to the communal facilities (outlined below). The fee is payable locally, and will be collected by Royal Westmoreland directly when you pick up your Resort Passes from the Clubhouse. This fee is not included within the cost of your rental.
Weekly Charges
The resort fee covers all guests staying in the villa and is applied per villa, per week. It is not calculated on a nightly or pro-rata basis and must be purchased in full weekly blocks.
The fee is based on the villa size category, rather than the number of guests or any reduced occupancy rate applied to the booking.
- 1 to 2 bedroom properties: USD $100 per week
- 3 bedroom properties: USD $125 per week
- 4 bedroom plus properties: USD $150 per week
For guests already in residence when the charge comes into effect on 1st May 2026, the fee will apply when registering for access on or after this date.
Do I Have to Pay the Resort Fee?
Use of the facilities is optional. Guests may choose not to purchase Resort Passes and therefore avoid the charge altogether; however, this means the resort's shared facilities will not be available to them during their stay.
Guests staying in properties listed as No Membership do not have access to the facilities and are not able to purchase Resort Passes.

Membership Tiers
Property owners at Royal Westmoreland can take up one of three membership tiers, with many of the benefits extending to guests staying in their villa. A Resort Pass is required to make use of the facilities.
Each of our Royal Westmoreland properties lists its membership tier under the In Brief section on the right-hand side of the listing. Our rental prices include all local property fees and taxes; however, any additional charges chosen as part of your stay or set by the resort, including the resort facilities fee, are not included. If you need any guidance, our Reservations Team will be happy to help.
No Membership (No Facilities)
Guests of a property with No Membership at Royal Westmoreland have access to the property via the resort, but do not have use of the communal facilities including Swimming Pools, The Sanctuary, Gym, Tennis, Pickle, or Padel courts, The Beach Club, Shuttle Bus service, or Golf (beyond Visitor Golf – see below).
Social Membership (Beach Club, Gym, Pool)
Guests of a property with a Social Membership at Royal Westmoreland have access to most of the communal facilities including Swimming Pools, The Sanctuary, Gym, Tennis, Pickle, and Padel courts, The Beach Club, and Shuttle Bus service. As with 'No Membership', access to Golf is not included (beyond Visitor Golf – see below).
Full Membership (Social with Golf)
Guests of a property with a Full Membership at Royal Westmoreland have access to all of the standard facilities including the communal Swimming Pools, The Sanctuary, Gym, Tennis, Pickle, and Padel courts, The Beach Club, Shuttle Bus service, and Golf (with the tee times and pricing below).

Golf
Access to golf facilities and tee times at Royal Westmoreland is determined by the property’s membership tier and differs for renters compared to full club members (the villa owners).
Full Membership Golf
Guests staying in villas with Full Membership are classified as “members’ house guests” or “villa renters” and are not full members of the club.
Guests staying in a Full Membership villa with a valid Resort Pass can access golf on a pay-to-play basis.
From 1st October to 30th April, tee times can typically be booked within the following windows:
- 9:10am – 11:50am
- 1:10pm – 4:30pm
Guide rates are:
- 18 holes: USD $325
- Twilight (from 2:30pm): USD $175
Some early morning and midday tee times are reserved for Full Golf Members (the villa owners) during the winter season. During the summer months, from May through to the end of September, these restrictions are typically lifted, although availability may vary and brief periods of course maintenance can affect play. We recommend checking with the Royal Westmoreland Pro Shop for the most up-to-date tee times and rates during your stay.
Tee times can be requested via the Royal Westmoreland Pro Shop from 7 days in advance of play.
Visitor Golf
Guests staying in No Membership or Social Membership properties are treated as visiting golfers and have very limited access to the course.
Tee times are typically restricted to one daily slot at 10:30am, subject to availability, and are offered on a pay-to-play basis. The current green fee is USD $350 per round, including a golf cart.
As availability is limited, tee times should be requested in advance via the Royal Westmoreland Golf Pro Shop.
The Driving Range
The driving range is restricted to guests of properties with a Full Membership, and cannot be used by Social, or No Membership guests. This also applies to non-resort visitors.

Bar & Restaurant Seasonal Restrictions
Winter Season
During the extended Winter Season, from 1st November until 30th April each year, the Club’s food and drink facilities (Clubhouse, Rum Shak, Halfway House, and Sanctuary Café) are restricted to guests with a paid Resort Pass.
Summer Season
During the condensed Summer Season, from 1st May until 31st October, the Club's food and drink facilities remain open to all resort guests and will not require the paid Resort Pass for dining.

Helpful Details
Certain owner exclusive benefits are not sharable with guests of villa rentals, these include, but are not limited to:
Owner Tournaments
Throughout the year various special invite or owner only events are hosted by the club for club members, these events are not open to property rental guests.
Annual Golf Limits for Non-Owners
Guests of a Social Membership villa are limited to 4 rounds of golf per person, per year. For guests who may wish to play more, our concierge team can help with access to the Sandy Lane golf courses The Country Club and The Old Nine, and the Barbados Golf Club for a little variety.
Annual Memberships
Memberships must be purchased directly by the property owner on the annual schedule and cannot be purchased by request for a shorter duration. It is also not possible for guests visiting the resort to purchase or upgrade a membership temporarily.

Liable to Change
Please note that while the information above is correct at the time of writing, Royal Westmoreland is an independent club and may change their policies at any time without notice, this is beyond the control or influence of owners or villa rental companies.
