Royal Westmoreland is one of our most popular resort destinations on the island of Barbados. The carefully kept lawns and obsessively leaf-blown walkways, make for the perfect environment to gently cruise in your golf cart, and crest the iconic yellow speed bumps on your way to the Clubhouse.
As with all clubs, they exist for the benefit of both their guests, and their members, and as such set their own rules and policies which can be helpful to understand when choosing the right villa for your holiday.
Membership Tiers
Property owners at Royal Westmoreland have the option to take up one of three tiers of Membership, with many of the benefits of these memberships being shared with the rental guests of their respective villa.
For your convenience each of our properties at Royal Westmoreland lists its membership tier under the In Brief section, found on the right hand side of each listing. If you need any assistance, just ask a member of our wonderful Reservations Team and we'd be delighted to help you.
No Membership (No Facilities)
A property with No Membership at Royal Westmoreland has access to the property via the resort, but does not have use of the communal facilities including Swimming Pools, The Sanctuary, Gym, Tennis, Pickle, or Padel courts, The Beach Club, Shuttle Bus service, or Golf (beyond Visitor Golf – see below).
Social Membership (Beach Club, Gym, Pool)
A property with a Social Membership at Royal Westmoreland is well suited to 'non-golfers' and offers access to most of the communal facilities including Swimming Pools, The Sanctuary, Gym, Tennis, Pickle, and Padel courts, The Beach Club, and Shuttle Bus service. As with 'No Membership', access to Golf is not included (beyond Visitor Golf – see below).
Full Membership (Social with Golf)
A property with a Full Membership at Royal Westmoreland has access to all of the standard facilities including the communal Swimming Pools, The Sanctuary, Gym, Tennis, Pickle, and Padel courts, The Beach Club, Shuttle Bus service, and unrestricted Golf tee times.
Resort Facilities Charge
In early September 2025, Royal Westmoreland announced that effective from 1st May 2026, the Club will start to collect a 'facilities charge' of US$10/person/day for access to the communal facilities (including those above). The charge will be collected by Royal Westmoreland directly when you pick up your Resort Passes from the Clubhouse.
For those guests already in residence when the fee comes into effect, the charge will be applied for those nights from the 1st May 2026 and any remaining days, and is required in order to continue using the facilities.
As a guest at the resort you can chose to forgo the use of the facilities for the duration of your stay, avoiding the charge entirely.
Guests receiving Resort Passes are required to pay for the duration of their stay and cannot pick-and-choose select dates.
Guests of a property with No Membership will not have the option of purchasing a Resort Pass for use of the facilities.
Bar & Restaurant Seasonal Restrictions
Winter Season
In September, alongside the Resort Facilities Charge, it was announced that during the extended Winter Season, from 1st November until 30th April each year, the Club’s food and drink facilities (Clubhouse, Rum Shak, Halfway House, and Sanctuary Café) will be restricted to guests with a paid Resort Pass.
Summer Season
During the condensed Summer Season, from 1st May until 31st October, the Club's food and drink facilities will remain open to all resort guests and will not require the paid Resort Pass for dining.

Access to golf facilities and tee times are limited by the property's membership tier, keen golfers will likely chose a property with Full Royal Westmoreland Membership in most cases.

Guests staying in a No Membership, or Social Membership villa are restricted to tee times between 10:30am and 11am daily and are welcome to play on a pay-to-play basis.
Full Membership Golf

The Driving Range
The driving range is restricted to guests of properties with a Full Membership, and cannot be used by Social, or No Membership guests, this limitation also extends to non-resort visitors.
